A lot of water under the bridge since 1987; the WTBTS has really regressed spiritually even at is has grown institutionally via property acquisitions and appreciation of its real estate values, the recent downturn notwithstanding. That's why the KIT and Diaglott are out of print; I doubt today's average JW even knows they exist, or what a concordance is.

If The Watchtower discourages Greek language study, why did they publish the KIT?
by VM44 inif the watchtower discourages the study of biblical languages, then why did they publish twice, in 1969 and 1985. the kingdom interlinear translation of the greek scriptures?.
would this not actually encourage the study of the greek language?.

Thisd blood issue is a huge booger on the GB's finger, and they are in a quandary as to how to distance themselves without flat-out renouncing it without setting off a maelstrom of law suits, etc.

by wobble income 2014 even some dubs must start to ask wtf jesus has been doing for one hundred years, and there is a big potential for many to leave.. what more will the wt bull**it (writing) department come out with to keep the poor little drones feeding the hive, and maintaining the gb's rock-star life-style ?.
the over-lapping generation tripe will be getting on for five years old by then, surely "noo lite" will shine that makes the big a even closer or somesuch ?.
come on chaps, those poor saps in writing need your best ideas.

Thanks GOrwell for the clarification. I remember Ray Franz saying in one ofhis books that they do make a practice of distancing themselves from certain problematic teachings by simply "not pushing them" and letting them recede in the collective JW memory. Their backpedalling on the 6,000-year "creative day" teaching is one prominent example.

GOrwell, interesting figures; but what do they mean? What are "average mentions?" Mentions per WT issue, per year? Or are you referring to "total mentions," in which case the numbers seem small.

1984 WT cover -- Watchtower's Final Failed Prediction?
